Di-sock-pointment

I must admit, I had high hopes for Sockapaloooza. Alison did a great job organizing it and keeping things running smoothly with weekly sock updates. Ashley was a great sock sister, keeping track of our progress along the way. And, I enjoyed knitting my pal’s socks and watching what others were knitting.
But.

I’ve been anxiously waiting for my socks to arrive. And, no socks. They may still be on their way to me, so I’m holding out hope. However, if my pal fell through and didn’t finish my socks, I don’t want to burden anyone (ie - the sock angels) with knitting me a pair of socks simply so that I receive a pair. If my own sock pal comes through (please?), that’s great. But, if not, no hurt feelings. It was fun anyway.

And, on the other side of things, I sent my own socks off last Tuesday - right on schedule. My pal lives just north of me several hundred miles, and should have received the socks by Thursday, or Friday at the latest. Unfortunately, I do not know whether the socks arrived. I don’t know whether the chocolates that I sent melted through their packaging and tissue paper, ruining the socks. I don’t know whether she opened the package and was so thrilled with the socks that she went into a state of extreme euphoria, so overcome with joy that she was unable to shoot me a quick e-mail to let me know that the package arrived. I don’t know whether she opened the package and was so overcome by disappointment that she sunk into a state of deep depression and did not want to let me know what I had done to her.

I just want to know if the socks arrived safely to their new home. Please, sock pal, let me know.

You might want to send off an email to your pal, since it’s always easier to hit reply than to type in an address. I was worried about my socks having met some awful postal fate as well, but emailing my pal cleared everything up. She’d just been incredibly busy. It’s so hard to wait, isn’t it?

I sent my sock pal her socks last week too and no word either *crickets* So I’m still anxiously waiting to hear word from her. If I don’t hear anything by Wednesday, I’m shooting her an email first thing on Thursday. It’s killing me! (And I haven’t received my socks yet either).

I’m in the same boat. I sent mine and haven’t heard a peep. My pal did send me an e-mail telling me she wasn’t mailing my socks until yesterday, but I’m anxious too. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for all of us.

The person I sent socks to emailed to let me know she got hers, and posted a commnet on my blog but she hasnt posted anything about it on her blog. She says she likes them and they fit, I’m just hoping she wasn’t just being nice and that they really do work for her!

I too am waiting patiently for mine to arrive - haven’t heard a peep from anyone saying they were mailed late or anything else so hopefully they are just taking a slow stroll here =) I refuse to give up hope until I have to. And I understand about not wanting an angel to do the work just so you get socks. I feel the same way.

Oh no–how disappointing. I feel half your pain: I’ve gotten my socks, but I’m still waiting to hear if my pal got hers. But don’t worry–if you don’t get yours, you will get a savior! And no need to feel guilty–the sock saviors are volunteers, and are doing it because they want to make sure that EVERYONE gets a beautiful pair of socks!

Oh no! Don’t let disappointment get you down just yet - there’s still time for your sock recipient to come through. And seriously, who WOULDN’T love a handknit pair of socks? I bet the outcome will be positive in the end. : )
